Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a trauma/ortho/surgical unit requiring a compact RN or PA license and at least 2 years of experience.

Details

• Work on a 9th floor Med/Surg unit spanning 44 beds across two nursing stations
• Adult patient population including trauma, orthopedic, urology, colorectal, and surgical cases
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required, with a minimum of 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
• No call requirements
• Uses EPIC EHR system
• Float to units with comparable patient population may be required, though uncommon due to a dedicated float team

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or PA) required
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
• Trauma experience required
• Must pass facility dysrhythmia and medication dosage calculation test prior to starting on the unit
• AHA certifications required
• Must provide Social Security number and date of birth for consideration
• Active Nursys/licensure verification required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for post-op trauma, orthopedic, and surgical patients
• Supported by a robust float team, minimizing likelihood of being floated off the unit
• Must have clear and complete background screenings prior to starting, including PA Child Abuse History Clearance, DHS and FBI fingerprinting, and PATCH PA State Police Clearance
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• No designated scrub color, but professional appearance required
• Facial piercings are not permitted except for a single-sided nose stud
• Must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
