Description
American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 3-5 years of MRI experience and ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification for an evening shift contract role.
Details
- Work in a dynamic MRI department with six scanners (currently operating five), including GE and Siemens systems
- Evening shift schedule Monday-Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, 40 hours per week
- Weekly census of 250-300 patients
- Treat outpatient, inpatient, and ED patients including those with implantable devices, neuro, oncology, musculoskeletal, ventilated, sedated, whole body, and cardiac cases
- Patient ratio of 1:1
- No floating required outside of the MRI unit
- Weekend rotation of maximum every 3rd weekend with on-call Saturday and Sunday nights from 2100-0630
- Backup on-call required Saturday and Sunday from 0630-2100 with 30 minute response time
- Weekend on-call occurs approximately once every 8 weeks with a compensatory weekday off
- Rotating weekly responsibility for first-shift backup on-call
Requirements
- 3-5 years of MRI experience required
- BLS and ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification required
- License required if applicable
- Experience with GE and Siemens MRI equipment required
- Experience with EPIC EMR required
- Experience with GE Discovery 750W, Siemens Aera, Siemens Magnetom Skyra, and McKesson PACS required
- Experience with implantable devices, neuro, oncology, musculoskeletal, ventilated, sedated, whole body, and cardiac patient populations preferred
- Breast MRI, Breast MRI Biopsy, and Cardiac MRI experience preferred
- Minimum 12 months of core work experience in MRI, with most recent experience within the last year
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Candidate's middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Join a collaborative team of experienced Technologists and Imaging Assistants with Lead Tech/Coordinator support
- Traveler will never work alone on the unit
- 3 days of orientation provided
- Holiday coverage based on unit needs, not required
- COVID vaccine required
- Scrubs may be any professional color

- First-time travelers will be considered
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius rules
- Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
