Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Med/Surg float position requiring 2+ years of acute care experience and WA or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Acute care Med/Surg and Telemetry float position covering six specialty units
- Units include surgical, long-term low acuity, general medical, cardiac/COVID, neuro, and ortho/spine populations
- May also float to Med Surg Oncology or ER transition/holding areas with telemetry monitoring
- RN patient ratios of 4-5 patients, CNA ratios of 8-11 patients
- Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPap, and trach care, no ventilators
- Telemetry monitored remotely by techs, with RNs verifying strip readings
- Required to titrate common drips such as insulin, heparin, nitro, dobutamine, dopamine, and Cardizem per med surg guidelines
- Uses EPIC EMR
- 12-hour night shifts, full time, every other weekend
- Primary assignment at one facility with required floating to other Region Two hospitals in Lakewood, Enumclaw, and Tacoma, WA
- Standby/call requirement up to 4 times during the contract
- May be assigned CNA or entrance screener duties as needed
Requirements
- Active WA or Compact RN license required, pending licenses not accepted
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience required
- Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
- Must be able to titrate medication drips per facility protocol
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care across multiple medical-surgical and telemetry units based on staffing needs
- Unit-specific orientation provided for primary units, no orientation given for alternate float units
- Holiday coverage required for 1-2 winter holidays
- No specific scrub color required
- Breaks must be taken when offered and cannot be refused
- Rate differential provided when floated outside of primary facility
- Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
