Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (ICU Stepdown) position requiring BLS, ACLS, and ID or compact RN licensure.
Details
- 4th floor Progressive Care Unit (ICU Stepdown) in a Trauma Level II facility
- 11-bed unit with an adult patient population
- 4:1 patient ratio
- Common diagnoses include CHF, detox, stroke, NSTEMI, STEMI, neuro conditions, COPD, diabetes, and sepsis
- Uses IV pumps, EKG monitors, SCD devices, and bladder scanners
- Charts in Meditech EHR
- Night shift schedule, 7p-7a
- Scheduled every other weekend
- No call requirements
- May float to med/surg for patient load or 1:1 safety needs
Requirements
- Active RN license (ID state or compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with 2 years in progressive care or ICU preferred
- RN degree required
- Skilled in EKG monitoring, patient assessment, wound care, IV management, and strong communication
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients with cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and other acute conditions
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills valued in this collaborative unit setting
- Scrubs of any color permitted; hoodies, open-toed shoes, hats, and offensive clothing graphics are not allowed
- Candidates must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
- Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
- Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
- Weekly orientation offered
