Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of ED experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details
- Combined adult/pediatric general Emergency Department within a Level II Trauma Center
- Handles shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12), alternating 36/48 hours, 19:00-07:00
- Will consider candidates open to 48-hour weeks
- 12 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) required per contract
- Cerner charting experience preferred
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact license required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience required
- Level II Trauma Center experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Skilled in pediatric and adult emergency care including abdominal pain, head injury, seizures, and respiratory infection
- Experience with IV therapy, central line management, and blood product administration
- Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
- Experience managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis and suicidal patients
- Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
- Able to apply splints and manage orthopedic injuries
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma, medical, psychiatric, and pediatric cases
- Must be able to manage multisystem organ dysfunction and critical emergency interventions
- Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
