Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level 1 trauma adult acute care unit, requiring 2+ years of recent RT experience in ICU and large facility settings.
Details
- Acute care Level 1 trauma facility with 300+ beds
- Adult RRT unit with potential rotation to Adult/NICU or Adult/PICU
- Uses Epic EMR
- Day/night rotating 12-hour shifts, straight weekends available
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- May float to other area campuses as needed
- Each shift supported by a charge therapist and 6-14 other RTs depending on campus
- Opportunity to pick up extra shifts
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years recent respiratory therapy experience
- Level 1 trauma and ICU experience required, ER experience preferred
- Experience in a facility with 300+ beds required
- RRT via NBRC preferred, CRT considered
- BLS (AHA) required
- ACLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) preferred
- ND state license required, or willingness to apply within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Perform respiratory therapy assessments and protocols, arterial punctures, and blood gas analysis
- Manage ventilator and NIV therapy including medication delivery and airway clearance
- Assist with intubations, extubations, bedside trach placement, bronchoscopy, tracheostomy changes, and decannulation
- Participate in emergency response teams, ICU rounds, and intrahospital patient transport
- Utilize equipment including Hamilton G5 & C1, V60, Airvo, CoughAssist, Vest, ABL90 Flex, Aerogen, Nitric Oxide, and home ventilators
- Complete lab orientation with RT education staff and preceptor shifts with unit RTs
- Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills required for coordination with the healthcare team
- Scrub color: steel gray
- Badge in and out required at facility
- Local candidates considered within 80 miles of the facility at a reduced rate
- Previous Sanford Health employees must disclose prior employment and have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
