Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency at a Level II Trauma Center.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a Level II Trauma and Level II Stroke Center
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Float to units of similar or lower acuity as needed
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required, pending license accepted if active and in hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CPI and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and spinal cord injury care preferred
• Experience with feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac, and IV insulin protocols preferred
• Experience with telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote) preferred
• Experience with ortho trauma, total joint replacement, and surgical drains preferred

Additional Information

• Provide med/surg and telemetry nursing care within a Level II Trauma Center setting
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced pay rate
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for standard travel pay rate
• Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
