Description
American Traveler is hiring a PCU/Cardiac Stepdown RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring active MI RN licensure and at least 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience.
Details
- 225-bed specialty care hospital with Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, and other specialty units
- Cardiac IMCU floor within the Medical Surgical Telemetry department
- Level 2 trauma center
- 36-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
- Cardiac population with trauma and stepdown level of care requiring telemetry monitoring
- Uses telemetry monitoring equipment
- Cerner EHR used
- 12-hour night shifts (7p-7:30a)
- Every other weekend required
- Call required only during low census
- Floating required
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications required)
- Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience required
- Associate degree in nursing required
- Experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips required
- Experience with cardiac stepdown populations required
- PCU/stepdown patient population experience preferred
- Low-level ICU skills preferred
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Care for patients with chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre/post open-heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular conditions, and CHF
- Strong teamwork skills required
- Scrub color must be blue or navy; blue jeans not permitted
- Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for travel rate
- Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time
