Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring TNCC and CPI certification on a 7P-7A shift schedule.
Details
- Emergency Department with 38 beds across Rapid, Main, and POD 3 (psych safe) areas
- Staffed with 7 day shift RNs, 7 night shift RNs, and 5 mid-shift RNs
- Equipment used includes ventilators, BiPAP, EKG, arterial lines, Belmont rapid infuser, and chest tubes
- Documents and charts using Meditech EMR
- Performs procedures including port placement and chest tubes
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Floating required to Brookside ED
- Minimum of 4 weekend shifts and 2 Fridays required per 4-week schedule
- Coverage required for 2 major and 2 minor holidays per schedule cycle
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in the Emergency Department specialty
- BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted)
- TNCC certification required
- CPI certification preferred; de-escalation course required
- NIH Stroke certification required
- Strong prioritizing and time management skills required
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
- Two professional references required for Missouri placements
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity emergency department setting
- Patient-focused, detail-oriented, team-oriented, and coachable candidates preferred
- Navy blue scrub attire required
- Must follow unit-specific POD 3 policy guidelines
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates will be considered

This MRI department is amazing! The nurses there are awesome! My experience there was exceptional! The patient care was outstanding!!
Cons
The pay was the only thing that was lacking. But that is what it was! No regrets about working there! Also the housing situation was not great. But that has nothing to do with the facility!
