Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a seasonal night shift MICU/SICU assignment at a Level 1 Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center requiring 2 years of ICU experience.
Details
- Combined MICU/SICU unit with 32 beds (16 MICU/16 SICU)
- Patient ratio of 2:1
- Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend required (or 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule)
- Uses Meditech documentation system
- Floating required to like units including Cardiac Telemetry (4 North/4 Central), Progressive Care Unit (4 West), Burn Unit, ED Inpatient Overflow, and other units per hospital needs
Requirements
- Active RN license (MO or Compact)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- TNCC preferred but not required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Skilled in trauma patient management, vasoactive IV medication administration, ventilator management, chest tube management, post-op surgical care, cardiac rhythm identification and management, hemodynamic monitoring, and stroke patient care
- Advanced skills required in hemodynamic and ventilator management
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Two professional references required for Missouri assignments
- No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide care in a high-acuity ICU setting performing procedures such as chest tube placement, ventriculostomy, moderate sedation, CRRT, therapeutic hypothermia, ECMO, and arterial/central line placement
- Facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Required uniform includes navy scrub top (no t-shirts), navy or black scrub bottoms, and solid navy, white, or black jackets/undershirts
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted

This MRI department is amazing! The nurses there are awesome! My experience there was exceptional! The patient care was outstanding!!
Cons
The pay was the only thing that was lacking. But that is what it was! No regrets about working there! Also the housing situation was not great. But that has nothing to do with the facility!
