Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment at a Level 1 trauma hospital, requiring nephrology/transplant unit experience.
Details
- Work on a 20-bed Ortho/Neuro-Transplant Nephrology Med/Surg unit at a Level 1 trauma hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Scheduling includes 3 weekend shifts per month
- No on-call requirements
- Agency/contract nurses float first per unit policy
- Documentation system is Meditech
- Dialysis is performed off-unit
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg required
- ADN required
- Experience with nephrology, kidney transplants, renal care, and dialysis preferred
Additional Information
- Provide med/surg nursing care to a nephrology and transplant patient population
- Unit supported by unit secretary during day shift, PCTs, and a unit educator
- Virtual nurse completes patient admissions so bedside nurses can focus on direct patient care
- Dress code requires royal blue scrubs, with black scrub pants permitted
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered for this position
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

This MRI department is amazing! The nurses there are awesome! My experience there was exceptional! The patient care was outstanding!!
Cons
The pay was the only thing that was lacking. But that is what it was! No regrets about working there! Also the housing situation was not great. But that has nothing to do with the facility!
