Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level II Trauma Center experience and a CT or compact RN license.
Details
- General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients in a Level II Trauma Center
- Inner city ED setting serving adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Night shift, 4x12 hour schedule from 1900-0730, with 36 or 48 hour options accepted
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Uses Accudose and Omnicell medication systems, Cerner for documentation, and SBAR for communication
- First time travelers accepted for this unit
Requirements
- Active RN license (CT or compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required, with hard stop requirement for experience in a Level I or II trauma facility
- Level II Trauma Center experience required
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in triage, IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and blood product administration
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG
- Experience with neurological assessment and CVA management
- References required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
- Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration as needed
- Dark blue scrubs required
- Candidates within a 75 mile radius accepted at a lower bill rate
