Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PCU RN with 2+ years of cardiac/telemetry intermediate care experience for a teaching hospital's Level III trauma center.

Details

• Cardiac/Telemetry Intermediate Care Unit (PCU) setting in an acute care teaching hospital
• Level III trauma center with 317 staffed beds
• Patient population includes post-CV procedure patients (CABG, valve replacement, Watchman, TAVR), CHF, DKA/HHS, thoracotomy, cardio-renal syndrome, respiratory failure, and arrhythmias
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Will float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby as needed
• Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac/telemetry intermediate care required
• Competency with vasoactive IV drips, BiPAP, insulin drips (endotool), and post-op care for CABG/valve replacement/thoracotomy patients required
• Epic/Excellian charting experience preferred
• Skills needed include IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, chest tube management, ABG interpretation, cardiac drip titration, temporary/permanent pacemaker care, and wound care
• Minimum of 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• Nursys verification and copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a cardiac intermediate care setting managing complex cardiovascular and respiratory conditions
• Navy scrub color required
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be considered, with no local radius exception for this unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO ideally should not exceed 5 days during the assignment
• Returning staff must have been gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked as a perm employee (staff or per diem) to be eligible
• Facility does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or to those who previously worked as perm staff
• Block scheduling is not accommodated for this position
