Description
American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 2+ years of clinical experience and ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification for a Level I Trauma academic medical center.
Details
- Work in the MRI department across multiple locations including University Hospital and Science Drive
- Adult and pediatric patient population across acute care, ICU, outpatient, and ER/Trauma settings
- Evening shift schedule, primarily Monday-Thursday 1:30 PM-9:30 PM with Friday day or evening shift
- 5x8 hour shifts with no weekends or call
- May be assigned other shifts based on business needs
- Holiday coverage as needed
- Required to float as needed
- Uses GE MRI equipment and PACS system
- Epic experience preferred
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of clinical MRI experience required
- ARRT (MR) certification required; ARMRIT accepted if ARRT MR not held
- BLS certification required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology required
- License required if applicable
- Level I Trauma experience required; Level II Trauma experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in abdomen/pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, and musculoskeletal MRI studies
- Experience with special imaging procedures such as MRA, MRV, MRCP, CINE, and perfusion studies preferred
- Proficient in contrast media preparation/administration, radiation safety, and peripheral IV starts
- Ability to communicate independently and confidently with inpatient and ED teams

- Facility is a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma academic medical center ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
- Perform diagnostic MRI studies across multiple anatomical regions including cardiovascular and musculoskeletal imaging
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
- Pass/fail telemetry exam with strict passing criteria required prior to start
- First-time travelers may be considered
