Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and a CT or compact RN license.
Details
- Surgical Intensive Care Unit within a mixed acuity unit with both ICU & step-down assignments
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00), with a commitment to 4x12s
- Every other weekend required with some holiday coverage
- Possibility to float to adult ICUs at other campuses
- Epic charting system used
Requirements
- Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I trauma or travel experience)
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Proficiency in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG preferred
- Experience with vasoactive drip titration and continuous IV sedation preferred
- Experience managing post-craniotomy and CVA/acute stroke patients preferred
- 1 professional reference required
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to a mixed acuity ICU/step-down patient population with multisystem organ dysfunction
- Work within a large Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center setting with 1,000+ beds
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Flu vaccination required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccination required with only religious or medical exemptions accepted
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or other emergency response activities as needed
- RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
- Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
- First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
