Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week assignment at a Level I Trauma Center requiring 2 years of ICU experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Details

  • ICU unit in a Level I Trauma Center, Academic Medical Center with 1,567 staffed beds
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
  • Average patient ratio of 1:3 across days, nights, and weekends
  • Floating required to PCU, other ICUs, and SRC campus as needed
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active CT or compact RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required (NIHSS preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I trauma or travel experience)
  • Trauma Center experience at a large facility required
  • Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care/management
  • Experience with care of ventilated patients and interpretation of ABGs
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation and cardiac monitoring
  • Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
  • One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing services to ICU patients including hemodynamic monitoring and emergency response
  • Participate in any natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
  • Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
  • COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
  • Local candidates not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital site
  • Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
