Description
American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center, requiring 2 years of ICU experience and CT (compact) RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the ICU of a large academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center
- Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
- Average patient ratio of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Floating required to PCU, other ICUs, and SRC campus as needed
- No call responsibilities
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years accepted with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
- Trauma Center experience at a large facility required
- Skills required: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, respiratory/thoracic care, care of ventilated patients, interpretation of ABGs, continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- 1 reference required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemption only
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing services within a Level I Trauma Center environment
- Participate in isolation precautions and PPE protocols as part of professional practice
- Must be available to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous perm staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
- Local candidates are not accepted; candidates within 75 miles of the facility are considered local
