Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for an acute care Magnet hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and NMTCB or ARRT certification.
Details
- Nuclear Medicine department in an acute care, Magnet-designated hospital with 426 staffed beds
- Performs PET scans; prior PET experience preferred but training will be provided on-site
- 5x8 day shifts, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- No weekend or holiday shifts required
- Orientation shifts scheduled 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM for approximately the first two weeks
- Optional on-call opportunities available (not required) with a 60-minute response time
- Uses Epic for charting
- Free on-site parking
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine required
- BLS certification required
- NMTCB certification required (ARRT N accepted as equivalent)
- California state license required (license required if applicable)
- ARRT N and ARRT R certifications preferred
- PET certification preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Experience with SPECT studies including bone, brain, liver, renal, and sestamibi parathyroid scans preferred
- Experience with thyroid studies, I-123 uptake scans, and cancer survey imaging preferred
- Experience with renal flow, captopril, and three-phase renal studies preferred
- Experience with lung scans including DTPA aerosol and ventilation/perfusion studies preferred
- Experience with myocardial stress testing (exercise and pharmacological) preferred
- Experience with GE equipment preferred
- Experience with liver/spleen imaging and tumor localization preferred
- Proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs
- EKG and PACS skills preferred
- Adult ICU experience preferred
- Community hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Travel experience required, though candidates with at least 2 years of experience can be screened as first-time travelers
Additional Information
- Performs PET scans and a range of nuclear medicine imaging studies including SPECT, thyroid, renal, lung, and myocardial perfusion studies
- May be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of submission; post-submission requests may not be accommodated
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must be outside the 50-mile radius of the facility
- Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate
- Royal blue scrubs for RNs; scrubs provided for L&D/OR staff
