Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an ICU position requiring Neuro experience and a CA RN license.
Details
- Work in the ICU of a 392-bed acute care hospital
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
- Floating required between like units as needed to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Meditech charting system
- Any scrub color accepted
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required at time of submission
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required (strong candidates with relevant experience may be considered)
- Neuro ICU experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, and cardiac drip titration
- Experience with CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery care preferred
- Experience with ECMO, IABP, cardiac cath, and TAVR preferred
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 2 supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients, including those with neurological and surgical needs
- Responsible for cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and care of multisystem organ dysfunction patients
- Free parking available on-site
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities (permanent, travel, or per-diem) including location and dates
- Former Providence staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and accepted at a lower bill rate
- RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application; minimal RTO is preferred to expedite the offer process
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- May be required to float between sister facilities within the region
