Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric/Neonatal Critical Care Transport RN with ground transport experience and PALS/NRP certification for a night shift assignment in the Seattle area.

Details

• Peds/Neonatal Critical Care Transport role supporting ground transportation for infants and pediatric patients
• Works alongside a transport team including respiratory therapists and advanced practice providers
• Transports patients from surrounding hospitals, ERs, and L&D/NICU units to a higher level of care facility
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (1900-0700)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• May float to NICU, PICU, or Peds units as a bedside nurse

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Ground transportation experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills in respiratory care including ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with emergency medications including IV vasopressors and continuous sedation
• Pediatric dosage calculation skills
• Experience with arterial and central line management and phlebotomy
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE
• Experience interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias
• NG tube insertion and management skills
• Urinary catheter insertion and management experience

Additional Information

• Responsible for transporting critically ill infants and pediatric patients via ground transport to a higher level of care
• Collaborates closely with respiratory therapy and advanced practice providers during transport
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities as needed
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month separation period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
