Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a day shift position requiring 2+ years of pediatric nursing experience and a California RN license.
Details
- Work in a 24-bed Pediatrics unit, including 4 beds designated for epilepsy video telemetry monitoring
- Care for patients ranging from newborn through seventeen years old
- General med/surg population including respiratory, surgical, neurological, and infectious conditions
- Unit experiences high admission churn, ranging from 4 to 26 visits daily
- All-RN staffing model with no CNAs used
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to NICU, PICU, and Eating Disorder Unit with a 6-hour orientation provided
- Schedules are released 2-3 weeks in advance on a 4-week cycle
- Charting completed in Epic
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required, 3+ years preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
- May be one of only two RNs on shift at night, requiring strong independent clinical judgment
- Travelers are often used to fill gaps for short-staffed shifts, including Sunday nights
- Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed, with no holiday RTO accepted
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
