Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a Peds/Neo unit requiring 2+ years PICU or Level 4 NICU experience.
Details
- Acute care setting within a Peds/Neo Respiratory Therapy department covering NICU and PICU
- Patient population includes pediatric and neonatal patients
- Handles 20-25 treatments per day
- Performs all aspects of respiratory care including aerogen, Volara, cough assist, IPV, NAVA, Hamilton and Servo ventilators, airway management, and intrahospital transport
- Equipment includes Hamilton and Servo ventilators, Respironics and Hamilton BiPAP, and Fisher Paykel HFNC
- Assists with intubation only, does not perform independently
- EPIC EMR used
- 12-hour day shifts with weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Preference scheduling permitted with a commitment of 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Fri, Sat, Sun)
- No floating required
- No call or standby call requirement
- Staffed with multiple RTs per shift; will not be the only RT in house
Requirements
- RRT preferred
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (AHA verification)
- Minimum 2 years experience in PICU and/or Level 4 or greater NICU
- License required if applicable
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Works alongside hospitalist or intensivist in house
- Department-specific orientation provided, with length dependent on prior experience
- Dress code is stone/light gray scrubs
- Accepts first-time travelers
- Radius rule requires candidates live more than 50 miles from the facility
- Returning WVU Medicine travelers must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
- Travelers may not work within WVU Medicine for longer than a cumulative year without a 2-year break
- All candidates interview directly with the unit manager
