Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a free-standing Emergency Department requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and TNCC certification for a 7p-7a shift schedule.
Details
- Work in a 10-bed free-standing Emergency Department with 1 trauma room and procedure rooms with doors
- Staffing includes 1 Charge RN plus 2 RNs per shift
- Patient ratio of 5:1 with flexibility when using the trauma room
- Patient population includes complex cardiac cases, DKA, sepsis, trauma, and stroke patients
- Uses ultrasound-guided IV insertion, Lucas Device, Rapid Infuser, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis
- Documents in Meditech Expanse EMR
- Shift runs 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating limited to the Main ER if needed, not to other units
Requirements
- Active RN license (NH or compact)
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, MOAB, and TNCC
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- EKG interpretation skills preferred
Additional Information
- Perform trauma care, stroke care, laceration repair, orthopedic trauma management, ultrasound-guided and IO insertion, eye exams, EKGs, psychiatric care, and cardiopulmonary care
- RNs work under chief-complaint-based protocols, including lab workups, EKGs, x-rays, and medication administration
- Perform point-of-care lab testing for all patients and collaborate with providers to complete medical screening exams within 10 minutes of arrival
- No hooded shirts or sweatshirts permitted per dress code for safety reasons
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Collaborative work environment with EMS agencies and strong team support expected
