Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and Cerner proficiency.
Details
- Level 3 trauma-equipped 355-bed Duke Lifepoint hospital with a 32-bed Emergency Department
- Patient population ranges from birth to death, handling all trauma cases though the unit is not officially designated as a trauma center
- Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
- Uses critical care equipment and Cerner EMR
- Night shift schedule from 7p-7a
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
- Call requirements include push back hours depending on census
- Floating required to other areas within demonstrated competencies
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Emergency Services required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Strong critical thinking and patient/family communication skills required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with stamina for high patient volume
- Experience with strokes, STEMIs, and trauma preferred
Additional Information
- Deliver emergency nursing care across a wide range of diagnoses and treatments to patients of all ages
- Energetic and knowledgeable personality fit preferred for this fast-paced ED team
- Scrubs of any color currently accepted; hoodies and inappropriate t-shirts not permitted
- Must start orientation on one of the designated 2026 dates (October 26, November 9, November 16, or December 7)
- Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
- Previous perm staff employment at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months is not eligible
- Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
