Description
American Traveler is hiring a NICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring NRP and BLS certification along with prior NICU experience.
Details
- Acute care NICU setting with 34 beds
- Patient population includes neonates as young as 24 weeks gestation
- No surgical services, cooling, or ECMO performed on this unit
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3-4 depending on acuity
- 12-hour night shift schedule with weekends as needed
- Floating to Post Partum as needed
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Uses Phillips cardiac monitors and Drager 500 ventilators
- Administers drips including insulin and dopamine
- Schedule is built in 6-week blocks and posted two weeks in advance
- Unit has a dedicated charge nurse each shift, with night shift charge traveler opportunities available
- 24/7 respiratory therapy support and NICU PICC team available
- In-house neonatologist coverage 8 hours per day, 7 days a week, with advanced practice providers available 24/7
- Pharmacy coverage 8 hours per day, 7 days a week, with house pharmacy support after hours
Requirements
- Active WA state or Compact RN license required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to neonatal ICU patients across varying acuity levels
- Facility-specific floor orientation provided
- Holiday coverage required
- Scrub color requirements vary by staff
- Candidates must not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year
- Candidates previously employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
- First-time travelers may be considered
