Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center requiring at least 2 years of PACU experience in a large hospital setting with ND or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Acute care setting in a Level 1 Trauma Center PACU with 18-bay and 14-bay Phase I units across two floors sharing staff
- Cares for all surgical specialties including adult and pediatric patients, averaging 5 to 15 pediatric cases per day
- Post-procedure care for ICU, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, and IR patients
- Nurse to patient ratios follow ASPAN Standards at 1-1 or 2-1
- Uses Epic charting, AcuDose medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, ventilators, and BiPap equipment
- Schedule includes 36-40 hours per week, primarily 0700-2300 with occasional nights and varied weekend rotation
- Shift lengths of 8 or 12 hours
- Backup call rotation required, approximately 2 weeknights per month and up to every 4th weekend
- May float between campuses for Phase I PACU
Requirements
- Active ND RN license or compact license required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
- Acute/hospital experience required; outpatient surgery center experience will not qualify
- Large hospital (250+ bed) experience required
- Able to care for high acuity patients
- Critical care experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide post-anesthesia care to adult and pediatric surgical patients across multiple specialties
- Basic hospital and unit orientation provided with a buddy RN on the unit
- Hospital-provided scrubs required for dress code
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
- Candidates living 60 to 80 miles from the facility may be considered at a reduced local travel rate
- Travelers with previous employment at any Sanford Health location must disclose this for review
