Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit position requiring 24 months of PICU experience and PALS certification.

Details

• Work in a 12-bed, all-private-room Pediatric Intensive Care Unit within a dedicated children's hospital
• Care for critically-ill or injured infants, children, and teens
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week
• Required to work every 4th weekend
• Minimal on-call requirements as needed to fill immediate needs
• Must be willing to float to NICU, General Pediatrics, and ED patient holds when needed
• Uses Epic EMR
• Equipment experience with ventilators, high flow, Alaris IV pumps, and feeding pumps highly preferred

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• BLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) certifications required
• Minimum 24 months of current PICU/Pediatric Intensive Care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Care team includes pediatric critical care physicians supporting the unit
• Unit features private patient rooms with family consultation room, family lounge, and family-centered amenities
• Facility also supports a Pediatric Transport Team providing critical care access to children statewide
• Holiday rotation required, including coverage for 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments in another market within 12 months of separation
