Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring high-risk L&D and antepartum experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit in a community hospital setting
- High-risk labor and delivery and high-risk antepartum patient population
- Includes triage and circulating in the OR responsibilities
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Every other weekend expectation
- Must be willing to float to postpartum if needed
- Uses Epic and CPN/QS charting systems
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
- Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
- AWHONN Beginner certification required (Intermediate or Advanced accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required, with most recent experience within the last 6 months
- Experience required in hospitals with a minimum of 150 births per month
- Epic charting experience required
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- LTAC experience preferred
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating and scrubbing for C-sections, and newborn/infant care
- Provides antepartum care including NST, fetal monitoring, and triage of obstetrical patients
- Delivers postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum care and breastfeeding support
- Administers medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Holiday coverage may be requested for one of the following: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate consideration
- Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are not considered for this position
