Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (Cardiac PCU) position requiring 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience and a KY or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a 48-bed Cardiac PCU within a hospital setting
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
- Patient population includes cardiac diagnoses such as PCI and pacemakers
- Common medications administered include Cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin
- Required skills include IV therapy, PCA, feeding tubes, wound vac, CBI, trach care, and central line care
- RN must read telemetry and titrate medications accordingly
- Uses Epic EMR
- Day shift schedule from 06:45-19:15, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend required per unit need
- ANM support provided on the unit
Requirements
- Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
Additional Information
- Responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating patient plans of care
- Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and functions as a mentor/preceptor
- Participates in a Practice Governance model emphasizing evidence-based practice and teamwork
- Facilitates patient and family education related to care, treatment, and discharge planning
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support patient and family needs
