Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of acute PCU experience and KY or compact RN licensure.
Details
- 32-bed Advanced Surgical Med-Surg unit (7W-NWC) caring for bariatric, GI, and colorectal surgical patients
- Patient ratio of 5-6:1
- Uses Epic EMR
- RN reads telemetry but does not perform titration
- Manages TPN and pain medications
- Performs PCA management, feeding tube care, tracheostomy care, peritoneal dialysis, and wound vac care
- Day shift schedule 6:45a-7:15p, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours)
- Every other weekend required per unit need
Requirements
- Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
- Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
- Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and serves as a mentor/preceptor
- Provides patient and family education throughout care and at discharge
- Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement initiatives
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support patient and family needs
