Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse - Telemetry Float for a night shift position requiring an active MA RN license and 2 years of experience with float responsibilities to all telemetry units.
Details
- Tele Float position within a hospital setting requiring float coverage to all telemetry units
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00
- Every other weekend and every other holiday scheduling (EOW/EOH)
- 48 hours per week schedule
- Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days of the week
- Epic charting system preferred
Requirements
- Active MA RN license in hand required
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and use of rapid response/code teams
- Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive airway management
- Experience with wound care, wound vac, and isolation precautions/PPE
- Experience managing cardiac drips without titration and PCA
- Two professional references required for consideration, one of which must be a Nurse Manager or higher
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry nursing care while floating across multiple telemetry-related units including MS/Tele, Orthopedics, and Renal
- Must pass two pass/fail exams at orientation (medication exam and telemetry exam), each with only one attempt; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
- Study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews (FDIs) to help prepare for exams
- Exempt from the telemetry testing requirement if assigned to Mother Baby/Postpartum, Ambulatory, OR, SACU, or Psych units
- Up to 1 of the 3 upcoming major holidays may be included in RTO requests
- Up to 14 days of RTO can be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
- First-time travelers accepted if they have previous floating experience
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
- Candidates must have a 12-month separation from the health system if previously employed there
