Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level II Trauma Center experience and a 1:4 patient ratio background.
Details
- General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
- Level II Trauma Center within a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 11:00 to 23:30
- Floating within the hospital may be required based on patient care needs
- EPIC EMR used
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand
- Current AHA ACLS and BLS certifications required in hand
- NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia management
- Experience managing trauma, shock, and multisystem organ dysfunction patients
- Skilled in pediatric and psychiatric emergency care, including managing violent behavior and suicidal patients
- Experience with IV therapy, central line care, and blood product administration
- Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
- Neurological care experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury
- Orthopedic skills including splint application and ortho trauma management
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and trauma cases
- Perform 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition and interpretation
- Identify and report signs of neglect or abuse
- Required orientation modules are completed and signed off by facility managers, averaging 8-12 hours
- Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted per assignment with no exceptions and no modifications after submission
- No block schedules available
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as non-local candidates
- Travel pairs accepted
- Former staff must be separated from the facility or system for at least 1 year before being considered for rehire as a traveler
