Description
American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for an Inpatient Rehabilitation unit requiring WI or compact licensure and prior skilled nursing or 24/7 care experience.
Details
- Work in a 49-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital unit
- Patient population includes adults requiring inpatient rehabilitation with high acuity needs, including stroke, brain and spinal-cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic conditions
- Patient ratio of 1:7
- 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
- On-call requirements apply
- Uses mobility equipment including ceiling lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, and slide boards
- Uses vital sign machines, EKG machines, and blood glucose monitors
- Charts using Epic EHR
- Floating not currently required but may be needed to a satellite IRF facility within 20 minutes in the future
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in skilled nursing or other 24/7 skilled care environment required
- Med-Surg or inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred
- 2+ years of overall nursing experience preferred
Additional Information
- Assist CNAs and respond to call lights as needed to ensure patient safety
- Unit functions similarly to a medical-surgical unit at times due to high patient acuity
- Facility is accredited by The Joint Commission and CARF for Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation and Stroke Specialty programs
- 30-minute unpaid break required each shift along with two paid 15-minute breaks during a 12-hour shift
- Staff must clock out on time unless approved by the house supervisor to stay later
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Local candidates will not be accepted
- Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time
