Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiac/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring active MI RN licensure and at least 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience.
Details
- 225-bed specialty care hospital with Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, and other specialty services
- Level 2 trauma center
- Cardiac IMCU floor within the Medical Surgical Telemetry department
- 36-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
- Cardiac and stepdown patient population including chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre and post open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular issues, and CHF
- Utilizes telemetry monitoring equipment
- Uses Cerner EHR system
- 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required
- Call required only during periods of low census
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications
- Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown nursing experience required
- Associate degree required
- Experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips required
- Preferred experience with PCU/stepdown patient populations and low-level ICU skills
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to cardiac and stepdown level patients requiring telemetry monitoring
- Strong teamwork skills required to collaborate with unit staff
- Scrub color requirement: blue or navy, with no blue jeans permitted
- Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
- Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
