Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift Orthopedic and Spine Surgery unit position requiring a PA or compact RN license and 2+ years of trauma/ortho experience.

Details

• Work on a 9th floor Orthopedic and Spine Surgery unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Unit spans 44 beds across two nursing stations with a patient ratio of 6:1
• Adult patient population including trauma, orthopedic, urology, colorectal, and surgical post-op cases
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required, with at least 2 of 4 weekends scheduled in a 4-week period
• No call requirements
• Uses Epic EHR
• Float to units with comparable patient population may be required, though likelihood is low due to a robust internal float team

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA state license or compact)
• 2+ years of RN experience required
• Trauma and orthopedic/surgical experience required
• Must pass a dysrhythmia and medication dosage calculation test with the facility's education department prior to starting on the unit
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• AHA certifications required
• Active Nursys/licensure verification required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide post-op and trauma/ortho nursing care within a Level 1 Trauma Center setting
• No designated scrub color, but professional appearance required
• Facial piercings other than a single-sided nose stud are not permitted
• All candidates must complete clear screenings prior to start, including PA-specific fingerprinting and background clearances
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
