Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring prior travel experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
- Cardiac ICU focus, caring for overflow patients from MICU, Trauma ICU, and Neuro ICU
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- 23 staffed beds on the unit
- Every other weekend required, with flexibility for unit needs expected
- No on-call requirements
- Floating to other ICUs and boarder areas should be expected
- Epic charting system required
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- TNCC certification preferred
- Minimum 2-3 years critical care experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required, at least 2 contracts preferred (1 contract may be considered)
- Level I Trauma facility experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in central line, arterial line, and PICC line management
- Experience managing ventilated patients and performing ETT/NT suctioning
- Experience with vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
- 2 supervisory references required at time of consideration
Additional Information
- Care for complex cardiac ICU patients including those requiring ECMO, IABP, Impella, and epicardial pacing wire management
- Manage patients with CVVHD/CRRT, EVD, ICP monitoring, and other critical neuro and renal conditions
- Solid color scrubs required, facility-provided or candidate's own in blue
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- Minimal RTO accepted, with no time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Prior UW/Harborview staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Manager prefers to avoid scheduling travel pairs together
