Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of PICU or CTPICU experience in a pediatric hospital for a night shift position in a CVPICU/Cardiac Stepdown unit.

Details

• Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) and Cardiac Stepdown unit at a pediatric hospital
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Every other weekend scheduling, subject to change based on RTO and unit needs
• Floating to different units required based on assignment needs
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of PICU or CTPICU experience in a pediatric hospital required
• Current certifications: BLS, PALS, RRT
• OH state license required (license required if applicable)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and high frequency oscillator
• Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and oral/nasal suctioning
• Experience with medication delivery systems including nebulizers, MDIs, and aerosol setups
• Experience administering medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Flovent, Nitric Oxide, and Racemic epinephrine
• Proficient in chest physiotherapy and interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Two supervisory references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients in a cardiac critical care setting
• Perform pulmonary hygiene, tracheostomy care, and sputum specimen collection
• Manage neonatal and pediatric ventilation equipment including oscillating and pressure/volume ventilators
• Work as part of a pediatric critical care team
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent position at this facility within the last 2 years
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are not permitted for this position
