Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 2+ years of pediatric critical care experience and an active TX or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the PICU of a hospital setting
  • Caring for high-acuity pediatric critical care patients
  • Manages complex disease processes including respiratory illnesses, sepsis, and DKA
  • Experience with pressure lines such as CVPs, arterial lines, and UAC/UVC preferred
  • Cares for ventilated patients on HFOV, VDR, and Servo ventilators
  • Manages drips including epi, nor-epi, milrinone, dopamine, and precedex
  • Experience with complex trauma patients including EVDs, Codmans, and neuro assessments preferred
  • Experience with complex pediatric postop patients including congenital anomalies/craniofacial and tracheostomies preferred
  • Performs procedures such as foley insertions, trans-pyloric feeding tube placement, dressing changes, and port access
  • Documentation completed in Meditech
  • Shift runs 7A-7P with day and night shift positions available
  • Floating required as needed, with travelers floating first to NICU, CHSU, general pediatrics, and peds hem/onc units
  • Weekend and call requirements discussed during interview

Requirements

  • Active TX RN license or compact license required, temporary license not accepted
  • Current BLS and PALS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric critical care experience required
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • One professional reference required
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months allowed

Additional Information

  • Provide high-acuity critical care nursing to pediatric patients in the PICU
  • Scrub color for RNs is blue
  • Nail policy requires clean, healthy nails with no artificial enhancements
  • Hair must be neat, clean, and pulled back if shoulder length or longer
  • Facial hair must be clean and neatly trimmed
  • Tattoos should be covered whenever possible
  • Visible piercings other than ear piercings are prohibited
  • Must comply with company-wide attendance policy
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted
