Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab RN for a Cardiology day shift role requiring 2 years of experience and an AL or compact RN license.
Details
- Cath Lab unit within a Cardiology service line
- Coordinates nursing care for patients undergoing invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures
- 4x10 hour day shifts weekly, typically 7:00 AM-5:30 PM with possible 5:00 AM start times
- Some late shifts required during the week
- 30-minute lunch breaks
- Weekend on-call required every 6 weeks (Friday-Sunday)
- Must be able to respond within 20 minutes of a call-out
- Uses Meditech EMR
- Floating to other units/hospitals may be required
Requirements
- Active RN license, State of Alabama or Compact (no temporary or pending licenses accepted)
- AHA BLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale or Red Cross certification required
- Associate degree in nursing required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, or 18 months with 1 year of recent experience in Cath Lab specialty
- Minimum 1 year of experience working independently in Cath Lab procedure rooms
- No history of license violations, past or current
Additional Information
- Participates in patient and family education and provides leadership within the cardiac care team
- Collaborates with other healthcare disciplines to maintain professional nursing standards
- Holiday coverage required as determined by the facility
- Dress code requires solid navy scrubs
- Completes on-site cardiac testing in addition to online pre-test prior to starting
- Virtual orientation includes competency-based modules
- Local candidates welcome with no radius or rate restrictions
