Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Med/Surg unit requiring an Illinois RN license and at least three years of applicable nursing experience.
Details
- Cardiac Medical-Surgical unit within a hospital setting
- 12-hour day shifts scheduled 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, three days per week
- Rotating weekend and holiday shift requirements
- May float to other area Carle Health facilities including Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Pekin Hospital, and Proctor Hospital
- Uses Epic for charting and documentation
- Performs patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control
- Utilizes lift equipment for safe patient handling and mobility
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum of three years of applicable nursing experience
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to exercise independent clinical judgement
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Basic computer proficiency including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsers
- Demonstrates multicultural sensitivity in patient care
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary health care team to coordinate individualized patient care plans
- Complete thorough documentation including patient charts and event reports
- Demonstrate technical proficiency with medical equipment and troubleshoot issues as needed
- Advocate for patients and communicate effectively with physicians and care team members
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel assignment
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days during the 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on assignment longer than 1 year without a 6-month break in service before returning to any Carle Health location
