Description
American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Cardiac Med/Surg unit requiring an active IL RN license and at least three years of applicable nursing experience.
Details
- Cardiac Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours)
- Rotating weekend and holiday shifts required
- May float to Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Carle Health Pekin Hospital, and/or Carle Health Proctor Hospital
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum of three years of applicable nursing experience
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Strong critical thinking and independent judgement skills
- Proficiency with basic computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsers
- Ability to safely perform patient moving, handling, and lift equipment use
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process across the care continuum from admission to discharge
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and modify individualized care plans
- Perform patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of equipment and troubleshoot issues as needed
- Advocate for patients and communicate effectively with physicians and care team members
- Provide teaching and support to patients and families based on individual needs
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Travel partners are not accepted for this position
