Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift hospital position requiring telemetry experience and an MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM) with every other weekend required
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Cerner charting system preferred but not required
- Mandatory floating required, including to MS/Tele units and as a Patient Observer/Sitter if needed
- 36 or 48 hour contracts available
Requirements
- Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand (no pending licenses)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and rapid response/code team protocols
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care within a Med/Surg Telemetry unit, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response as needed
- Required to work 50% of holidays occurring during the contract, including Dec 24 and Dec 31
- Position involves routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
- Facility operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, requiring flexibility for rotating shifts, holidays, and inclement weather coverage
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted, though those within 50 miles are not eligible and those 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
- Local candidates will not be eligible for contract extensions beyond the initial assignment
- Maximum of 10 days RTO allowed, with none permitted during the first week due to orientation requirements
