Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer with 3+ years of experience and RDCS certification to perform echocardiography services in a cardiology department.
Details
- Diagnostic imaging department performing cardiac ultrasound services
- Day shift schedule
- 13-week assignment
- Performs echocardiograms, limited echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms
- Utilizes Synapse Echocardiography system and PACS for imaging, reporting, and image transfer
- Charts in Epic EMR
- Operates echo machines including color doppler, power doppler, spectral doppler, and M-mode functions
- Performs portable exams as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
- RDCS, RCS, or CRCS credential required
- License required if applicable
- Experience with Epic EMR
- Ability to operate echo equipment and perform all standard echocardiography exam types
- Knowledge of peripheral IV placement for contrast studies preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact compassionately with patients and team members
Additional Information
- Operates imaging equipment to obtain high quality diagnostic images for cardiologist interpretation
- Writes preliminary reports in Synapse system for cardiologist review
- Documents patient care in hospital electronic medical records
- Greets and confirms patient information, reviews allergies and procedure details prior to imaging
- Maintains and records TEE probe cleaning/storage logs and related equipment testing
- Works independently and as part of a collaborative care team
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and eligible at a lower pay rate
