Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/PCU RN for a night shift position requiring MO or compact RN licensure and prior charge nurse experience.

Details

• PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown unit setting within a community hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Will fill in as charge nurse for 4N unit, taking a partial or full patient team
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Competent in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration required)
• Skilled in insulin protocols and IV insulin management
• Experience with pacemakers and pre/post cardiac catheterization care including sheath removal and TR Band

Additional Information

• Must work 4 of 8 designated holiday shifts: Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, 12/26, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must shave for proper mask seal during fit testing; no medical or religious exemptions accepted and failure to comply will result in cancellation
• Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not accepted for this position
• Clinicians cannot work past 1 year as a traveler at this facility and must take a 6-month break before returning
