Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Med Surg Overflow position requiring Level I Trauma and prior travel experience.
Details
- Work in the Stepdown unit, covering Med Surg overflow with Neuro experience preferred
- Team nursing model with a 1:12 ratio split between 2 RNs, 2 LPNs, a med nurse, and charge nurse
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00), 36 or 48 hours per week with potential schedule changes based on staffing needs
- On-call required as needed
- Weekend rotation required as needed
- Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius
Requirements
- Active RN license (TN or compact) in compliance with NLC guidelines, no pending licensure accepted
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience required, 3+ years preferred
- ADN accepted
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Large hospital experience required
- Prior travel experience required, including at least 1 completed travel assignment
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Vaccination status required for consideration
Additional Information
- Work in a Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center hospital
- Holiday coverage required: if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall during the assignment, must work 2 of the 3; if only 2 holidays fall during the assignment, must work at least 1
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
- Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Former travelers who completed a full year assignment must wait 1 full year before returning
- Weekend block scheduling may be considered, but block schedules are generally not accommodated
- Local candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
