Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a high-volume Adult Emergency Department at an academic medical center, requiring 3+ years of ED experience and recent Level I/II Trauma Center experience.

Details

  • Work in the Adult Emergency Department of an academic medical center
  • One of the highest-volume Emergency Departments in the country
  • 12-hour night shifts (7p-7:30a), 36 hours per week
  • Variable days with weekends and holidays required
  • No block scheduling available
  • Floating required; flexibility is essential for this role

Requirements

  • Active FL RN license or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • PALS or ENPC certification required
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
  • Most recent 12 months must include experience at an academic medical center (preferred) or a Level I/II Trauma Center in a major metropolitan area
  • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
  • Recent experience working in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center required
  • Recent EPIC EMR experience required
  • No employment gaps greater than 30 days without explanation
  • Professional reference dated within the last 12 months required

Additional Information

  • Opportunity to gain experience at a nationally recognized academic medical center

  • Must complete specialty-specific competency exam and EKG exam with rhythm mapping and interpretation as part of onboarding
  • Minimum score of 80% required on each exam, with 100% identification of lethal rhythms required regardless of overall EKG score
  • Additional remedial training may be required for candidates who do not meet EKG competency standards
  • Unit Manager interview required as part of the hiring process
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • No RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • Maximum of 10 days RTO allowed for the 13-week contract
  • Blackout dates for RTO include 11/26-11/28, 12/24-12/25, and 12/31
  • Unplanned time off may result in contract cancellation if missed shifts are not made up
