Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring moderate sedation administration experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Acute care setting in a GI Endoscopy Lab with 1 procedural suite
- 4 RNs scheduled per procedure day, handling up to 15 patients daily
- Common cases include EGD, colonoscopy, and flexible sigmoidoscopy
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Mon-Fri schedule with 4x10-hour shifts, variable start times between 0630-0730
- Candidates able to assist only with GI procedures will have Wednesdays off
- Facility also runs 1 day of outpatient urology procedures monthly and Pain Management procedures weekly
- No weeknight, weekend, holiday, or call requirements
- Occasional floating to Bellevue or Seattle locations may be requested during significant call-out situations
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Minimum 2 years of moderate sedation administration experience, with no more than 6 months since last administration
- Telemetry monitoring proficiency required, including 3-lead EKG monitoring during procedures
- IV start experience required
- Endoscopy and outpatient urology procedural experience preferred, though urology experience is not required
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include pre-procedure patient assessment and history taking, intra-procedure moderate sedation administration and monitoring, and post-procedure recovery care
- Must be able to assess patients and intervene in emergencies during procedures
- Procedural scrubs are provided by the facility
- Orientation includes General Ambulatory Orientation followed by preceptor-guided training on the floor
- GI skill set is the most important qualification for this role
