Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ER Holding position requiring CA licensure and a willingness to float to Med-Surg/Telemetry when not needed in ED Holding.
Details
- ER Holding unit with float requirement to Med-Surg/Telemetry when not utilized in ED Holding
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 0700-1930
- Weekend rotation required
- No on-call requirement
- 1:4 patient ratio experience
- Treats adult and pediatric emergency patients including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
Requirements
- Active CA RN license
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC preferred
- Minimum 3 years of ED experience required
- Travel experience required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, central line care, blood product administration, and arterial line management
- Skilled in care of ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ABG interpretation
- Experience administering emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
- Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
- Experience managing psychiatric holds, suicidal patients, and violent behavior
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care including clinical procedures such as IV insertion, Foley catheterization, and wound dressing
- Perform accurate documentation of assessments and patient education
- Monitor and manage patients using telemetry, IV, and ventilator equipment per facility standards
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, acting as a patient advocate
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary care team while working independently as needed
- Maintain professional appearance and complete assigned tasks within required timeframes
- Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
- Returning employees must have a one-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only one holiday request approved per contract
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
