Description

American Traveler is hiring a Special Education Teacher (Mod/Severe) for a center-based SSN program at an elementary school, requiring CDE licensure and experience writing IEPs.

Details

• Non-clinical elementary school setting within a center-based Significant Support Needs (SSN) program
• Caseload of approximately 10 students in grades K-5
• Student population consists of students with significant support needs
• Responsible for managing and training 5-6 paraprofessionals
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:30am to 4:00pm
• 40 hours per week

Requirements

• CDE license required in-hand for consideration (license required if applicable)
• Special education teaching experience required
• Experience writing IEPs required
• CPI training required within first 90 days of assignment
• Colorado CBI and FBI fingerprinting clearance required
• Preference given to candidates with SSN teaching experience
• Preference given to candidates with ELL training and/or an ESL or Linguistically Diverse Education (LDE) endorsement

Additional Information

• Provide instruction and support for students with significant support needs in a center-based classroom
• Collaborate with and supervise paraprofessional staff to support student learning
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
