Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/PCU position requiring a PA or Compact RN license and 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience.
Details
- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
- Cardiac telemetry and PCU patient population
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Rotating 3x12 hour day and night shifts
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
Requirements
- Active PA or Multi State/Compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac telemetry/PCU required
- Cerner charting system experience preferred
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
- Experience managing cardiac drips and interpreting/managing dysrhythmias
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, rapid response, and code team protocols
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry nursing care within the PCU/stepdown setting
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Local candidates not accepted
- Holiday coverage required for every other holiday
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
- All requested time off must be submitted for consideration at time of application
